About Mo
Home is where the heart is, and Mo bakes and cooks with love in her Miami kitchen. She believes that local ingredients and a passion for detail are what make any meal special. AskMo and MoScotti were conceived by Monica Schatz and her husband Rick. Monica always had a passion for cooking and baking from a young age, and decided to pursue a career in the industry upon realizing her culinary capabilities. A few of her accomplishments include receiving her post graduate degree from the Culinary Institute of America, working as Pastry chef at the iconic Pump Room in Chicago, and leading as Executive Chef at Miami’s Cafe Tu Tu Tango. She later started Monica’s Kitchen, a private catering company.
Great food doesn’t need to be perfect; it needs to be made with love. At MoScotti, Mo prides herself in making her biscotti from scratch in her home kitchen, not with factory machines. No batch looks identical, but each bite tastes equally scrumptious. With AskMo, Monica provides culinary insights from her years in the industry to those looking for new, fun recipe or meal ideas or those looking for advice on planning for dinner parties and entertaining guests.
We believe that self-expression and creativity are what fuels us in the kitchen. Monica takes inspiration from local flavors as well as her own fun creations.
